Through the generosity of the National Endowment for the Humanities (Grant PA-50077-03), the Johns Hopkins University received funding to preserve and make accessible 326 episodes of university-produced television programs broadcast nationally between 1948 and 1960.
The university produced four programs during these years: Johns Hopkins Science Review, Tomorrow, Tomorrow's Careers, and File 7. Although the emphasis of the first program was scientific topics presented to a popular audience, the other programs were much broader in scope.
The finding aid, available in a frames and non-frames version, describes each program in detail. The programs may be viewed in the library's Audio Visual department on A-level, or VHS/DVD copies of the programs may be purchased.
