Welcome to Milton S. Eisenhower Library

The Academic Liaison Department of MSE Library is pleased to provide reference and instructional services to students and instructors in the CTY summer programs. As information professionals, our librarians offer the best possible help for individuals using the library's resources. We request that instructors call upon our services when using the library with students.

Please contact Mr. Yunshan Ye, library liaison to the CTY programs, if you have any questions. Thank you!

Guidelines for Library Visits

CTY students are welcome to use the library when accompanied by an instructor. Our library patrons work hard year round, so before visiting, please discuss with your students the need to behave in a way that respects scholars working in the library.

What you need to know for visiting the library:

  • All seated computer workstations in the library require a login ID: CTY instructors and students can get these affliliate barcodes at the Circulation Desk on the M-Level.
  • You must accompany your students when they come to the library.
  • The Electronic Resource Center in the MSE Library is used for individual consultations of electronic resources and for scheduled classes taught by librarians. It is not available as a general use classroom.
  • Group study rooms may be used if no other students are using them. Group study rooms in the BLC are card-swipe access only. They may be reserved for 4 hour blocks using the online room reservation system; you will need a valid JHED ID and password to do this.  If you do not reserve, please note your group may be asked to leave if the room has been reserved.
  • Group viewing rooms for multimedia can be reserved in the Audiovisual Center on A-Level.
  • Do not bring your students to the library for recreational web use. There are a limited number of library workstations and first priority is for research.
  • All of your students must have their lanyard on when they are in the building. This helps us identify your students as part of the CTY program.

Other important building rules & resources:

  • Help us protect our collections! Food is not allowed below Q Level. Drinks must have lids.
  • Photocopy/print cards are required in order to print  or make copies in the library. The rechargeable card costs $1.00 plus whatever amount is added for printing/copying. Printing records from the JHU Libraries catalog is free; anything else is 6 cents per page.
