Literature Reviews
The following two sources provide subjet-specific literature reviews in anthropology.
- Reviews in Anthropology Philadelphia: Gordon and Breach, 1974-2005. Online version covers from 1997- present. In contrast to the Annual Review of Anthropology, contains critical reviews of new books, not current topics. Includes responses by the authors of the books.
- Annual Review of Anthropology Palo Alto, Calif.: Annual Reviews Inc., 1972-preset. Covers topics and problems of current interest and recent publications in anthropology. Review articles are written by specialists.
Book Reviews
To find book reviews, you need the author and title of the book as well as the year of publication. Generally, book reviews appear in the year or year after the book was published. Not all books are reviewed and sometimes it takes a couple of years for a review to appear.
