Computer Manuals

The Eisenhower Library has many computer manuals in print, including books on programming languages, applications, graphics packages, and much more.

These are located in two places:

  1. The regular shelves ("stacks"), or

  2. "Eisenhower Computer Collection" [on C Level, along the front wall]

For the manuals on the front wall:

  • 5 books can be checked out at a time
  • May be checked out for 2 weeks with one 2-week renewal
  • Overdue fines $1/day for books and $1/day for CD's
  • No holds or recalls on these because of the short loan period

Search the catalog to find print computer manuals:

Computer Manuals Online

Safari Books Online provides online access to computer manuals and business books.

Safari includes books from many popular publishers, including:

  • Adobe Press
  • IBM Redbooks
  • O'Reilly Media Inc.
  • Cisco Press
  • SAS Publishing.

Instructional videos from lynda.com and New Riders are also included. You can search the full text, section headings, even just the code in the computer manuals. Video results from your searches are displayed in a separate tab, so they aren't mixed in with the book results.

There is also a limit to the number of JHU people who can use Safari Books Online at once. Only 9 people at a time can use Safari, so please be sure to leave the website when you're finished.
