Getting Books from Other Libraries

BorrowDirect allows you to request books from Ivy + libraries when the book is not available at JHU.  This is the fastest way to get materials from other libraries, and should be the first place you look when you need something JHU does not own. Search for materials through BorrowDirect.

If you cannot get material through BorrowDirect, try Interlibrary Services.

Interlibrary Loan is a system that allows you to get journal articles and other items and borrow books from other libraries around the country at no cost to you.  For a book, check BorrowDirect to see if your book is available through one of our partner libraries.  If not, try Interlibrary Loan to check availability at thousands of libraries.  For journal articles, always use Interlibrary Loan.
