Not all newspapers are online, so microfilmed newspapers remain an important part of the research process.  Microfilm preserves the newspaper in its original state so that you can see the placement of articles (front page or buried in the last section), original advertisements, and photographs.

MSEL has two ScanPro microfilm readers on A-level that can be reserved on our space reservations page.

These microfilm readers are not the nauseating monsters of the past! These are digital microfilm readers that you view on a computer screen and scan images to create your own digital files.
