Library Resources for Faculty
How can the library help YOU help your students when it comes to research? The Sheridan Libraries are available virtually to help AAP students and faculty in a variety of ways.
Research help
- Research consultations: faculty and students can contact AAP librarian, Siân Evans directly at sianevans@jhu.edu or by using her calendar
- We have over 1300 databases, grouped by subject area
- Curated, subject-specific research guides to get you and your students started if we’re not available
Teaching help
- Contact AAP librarian, Siân Evans directly at sianevans@jhu.edu or by using her calendar to tailor an online instruction session for your students on how to do their research, including choosing the right databases, search strategies, topic development and scoping.
- Use asynchronous teaching materials in your classes, like our video tutorials on developing research questions, searching our catalog, writing annotated bibliographies and more. We are also happy to help you develop asynchronous course content!
The library also supports your research with a collection of over 3 million e-books and journals, over 3 million physical books, and access to the collections of libraries throughout the country including the holdings of our colleagues in the Ivy Plus libraries.
eReserves
eReserves is a service provided by the JHU Libraries to provide electronic access to course readings. A link to eReserves appears in Canvas course sites on the left navigation menu to allow students easy access to their readings. The readings are copyright and license-compliant and meet minimum ADA standards. To maintain copyright and license compliance, files found under eReserves should not be uploaded or linked directly in your course. Additionally, eReserves links may not work as well in your Canvas site. To request support, submit your syllabus or course reading list to reserves@jhu.edu.
