Guide to Library Research in Political Science
1. What is "Scholarly Literature" and how to find it?
Scholarly literature is written by researchers who are experts in the field and often subject to "peer review" process before being published in academic/scholarly journals. The purpose of scholarly research and publishing is to create new knowledge. In contrast, popular literature is written by journalists for general interest papers and magazines. The purpose is to inform the public and disseminate knowledge/information.
