Television Ratings
Many Internet resources provide prime-time ratings information for the previous or current week, but they often provide different amounts of information -- some include broadcast programs, others cable programs and/or networks, etc. Be sure to check across multiple sources.
- Advertising AgeAccess Advertising Age, also known as Ad Age, for articles and data on marketing, media and agencies. Click on the Data Center tab for survey results and rankings and data on top advertisers, brands, and agencies; advertising expenditures; media; digital media and marketing; Hispanic marketing; interactive marketing; employment and more.
- The Futon CriticProvides current weekly rankings and ratings for broadcast programs, organized by day and week as well as age-group breakdowns. Includes broadcast program ratings from one year ago for comparison. Also offers explanations for number meanings.
- MRI Simmons InsightsDatabase of U.S. consumer purchasing activity down to the individual-brand level, cross-referenced with detailed data on demographic characteristics, media usage, attitudes and opinions, and location. Create user-defined cross-tabulations based on any combination of variables desired, or generate “Quick Reports” with pre-defined criteria. Data on consumers media habits and psychographics available.

- Neilsen Data CenterProvides Top 10 program rankings and ratings from the previous week as well as number of viewers. Data is organized by Type of TV, Broadcast TV, Streaming TV, and Sports. Also has reports on data.
- TVB Local Media Marketing SolutionsProvides broadcast, subscription and syndication TV ratings delivery and analyses for the current season year as well as prior five seasons. Also includes breakdowns among age groups.

- Directory of Publications and Broadcast Media (in Gale Directory Library)Choose this directory in the Advanced Search screen to identify and locate television stations, radio stations, cable television companies, directories, newsletters, newspapers, and periodicals to target for advertising your products or services. Ad rates by organization may or may not be available for each entry.

Digital access to one of Duke University's advertising collections. Images and information include over 7,000 advertisements from U.S. and Canadian newspapers and magazines between 1911 and 1955. Subjects include: radio, television, transportation, beauty and hygiene, and World War II.
