Catalyst Search
Catalyst is JHU's online library catalog. It contains all of the materials (print, online, microform, manuscript, databases and AV) available at or through Johns Hopkins Libraries. Catalyst also shows materials from JScholarship, JHU's online institutional repository.
Islamic Studies books are arranged by subject throughout the library. The general call number for books about the religion of Islam is BP (B-Level). Works on Islamic art and architecture can be found under N (D-Level), while language reference books for Middle Eastern languages can be found in P (D-Level). Histories and Social Science approaches to the Islamic world will be collected with books that treat similar geographical regions or concepts.
The majority of the library's books on these subjects are in English, albeit the library also has a large number of bilingual editions, as well as books in Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Hebrew, and more.
