Welcome to the Visual Resources Collection (VRC), Room 181, Gilman Hall.

The VRC provides images and teaching support for faculty and students in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.

Find Images: You have access to many image resources at Hopkins, including the VRC's digital image database, the JHU Visual Resources Collection in ARTstor via Shared Shelf. In addition, we purchase images for teaching needs.

We will train you to navigate these resources, and others on the web, with the goal of helping you find high-quality images.

Create Images: We routinely make images on demand, via copy photography and scanning.

Display Images: We will help you present images using PowerPoint, Keynote, ARTstor's Offline Image Viewer (OIV), and other image viewing platforms.

In the Classroom: We offer in-class presentations on finding and using images for student projects.

Consultation: We partner with the Center for Educational Resources to assist faculty using images in teaching tools such as Omeka, as well as the CER's Interactive Map Tool and Timeline Creator.
