Writing, Citing, Copyright
Clear writing with complete and correct citations is crucial, and something you will need throughout your life.
In addition to these pages, see also:
- Retraction Watch -- This site keeps track of papers that have been retracted, and why
-
ORCID (https://orcid.johnshopkins.edu) -- Easily create this identifying number for yourself, so that readers can find you and your publications. (Note: the spelling is ORCID, not "orchid.")
-------------------------------------------
The most common citation styles in Public Health are are APA and AMA
(both on the Citing Sources guide; note that AMA style is on the "More Styles" page of the guide).
How these differ for in-text citations:
--- APA uses author/date, and bibliography is in alphabetical order by author
--- AMA uses superscript numbers, and bibliography is in order of use
[Hint: it's easy to lose track of which numbers go with which references, so be extra careful.]
