Recent German additions of our very important Avant-garde Collection:

• Gedichte und Gesänge (1916-1917). Compendium of poems by George Grosz, with 6 of his exquisite drawings. 1 of 33 copies on Holland paper from a total edition of only 36 copies. This copy signed "George Grosz N.Y. July 33".
• Rixdorfer Bilderbogen. 10 issues of the German avant-garde art and literary journal produced by a Berlin-based avant-garde workshop, each issue containing prints, poetry, and some additional text, integrating bold typography with graphic imagery. Very scarce institutionally
• Sezession Gruppe. Dresden: Emil Richter, 1919.
  Famous and unique manifesto and catalogue of the Dresden Expressionnist group, formed immediately after WWI. Artists included Otto Dix, Oskar Kokoschka, Conrad Felixmüller; and writers Walter Rheiner, Heinar Schilling and Felix Stiemer, among others.
• AIZ. Arbeiter-Illustrierte-Zeitung. Several issues of this German illustrated magazine published between 1924 and 1938. Anti-Fascist and pro-Communist in stance. Published by Willi Münzenberg, it featured the propagandistic photomontages of John Heartfield.
