Dissertations and Theses
An overview of Hopkins disserations can be found here. Talk to Brooke regarding Hopkins dissertation & theses access if the below does not help you out:
- Dissertations uploaded to ProQuest can be searched here
- Dissertations are no longer submitted to ProQuest, as of 2013; theses and dissertations completed since 2013 will be found in JScholarship. Students may arrange with ProQuest to upload their dissertations, but that is up to the student, and very few do it.
- Degrees are conferred three times each year: in late May, late August and late December. Within two months of these degree conferrals, theses and dissertations should be published in JScholarship. Theses and dissertations in JScholarship are NOT included in Catalyst at the current time. Dissertations uploaded to ProQuest prior to 2013 should be included in Catalyst.
- Students may request an embargo on their thesis or dissertation of a maximum of four years. During this time, no one may view the item; we do not have author contact information. They will be included in JScholarship, but only the author's name, title, and the Abstract will be accessible to the public.
- ProQuest allows Google to index dissertations going back to 2007, including a preview of the full text in Google Books. Embargoed works are not included and authors can contact ProQuest to remove their work from Google. More info can be found here: http://www.proquest.com/en-US/products/dissertations/google.shtml
