Public Workstations

There are no public workstations in Brody or The Annex.

Free WIFI is available to visitors.

What To Know about the MSE Library Annex

Services & Features at the  MSE Library Annex (Hopkins Club):

  • Book Pickup: ILL (including ILL books that must be used in The Annex), Borrow Direct, & Circulating Collections library books; books will be checked out to the user
  • Book Return: A jolly blue book return box is located outside of the Annex; a second book return box is inside the building
  • Special Equipment: Microfilm readers are housed in a quiet room; Service Desk staff will help with access; printers and scanners are also available
  • Service Desk: Service Desk staff can help with questions regarding access to books & other media
  • Study Space: The Annex has study space for roughly 300 students.
  • Librarian Consultation: Onsite library consultation will be available (date to be determined); Currently, people can use our remote Ask a Librarian service. Text 410-692-8874 or email asklib@jhu.edu
  • Access: Access to the building is limited to people with active J-Cards; you must swipe your card to open the door to the building. If someone does not have a J-Card but needs to access the building (for example, community members who have paid for a library card OR visiting scholars who haven't received card access yet from their host departments), they are to contact the Service Desk at  asklib@jhu.edu or 410-516-8335

Services & Features at Brody

  • Specialized Equipment: 4 Bloomberg Terminals are located on B-level
  • Printers/Scanners: Located in the printing room on B-level
  • Tech Help: Most common tech problems addressed here; for onsite tech support , have students contact 410-516-8338 on weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. After 5 PM and on weekends please call 410-746-7048.

Special Collections Staffing

Amy, Brooke, & Heidi are the main staff at our Brody location. Please note that Amy works at Mount Washington on Tuesdays and at the Garrett Library on Fridays. She is reachable via Slack and email.

Other staff may be around on a rotating basis. If you are looking for someone and don't know if they are around, ask about their status via Slack. The calendar printouts at the reception desk and monitor's desk may have info on staff locations in the field above the hours breakdown.
